Hi Everyone,

Kirk and I have been FOLLOWING THE SUN and making a difference by fundraising for a cause that's close to our hearts - The National Breast Cancer Foundation. 

We travelled from the Gold Coast to Cairns and then from Cairns to nearly Sydney, in the awesome Dometic Follow The Sun RV Wirraway Motorhome helping to raise awareness of The National Breast Cancer Foundation as well as much needed funds to help with research. We helped host 20 HAPPY HOURS (Sausage sizzle, games etc) at the Holiday parks we stay at and ALL proceeds went to NBCFAustralia. It was all part of a competition we won as runner-ups with the Dometic Follow The Sun 2016 competition.

As you know I had breast cancer myself last year and went through chemo, surgery and radiation.  I'm hoping no-one ever has to go through this anymore so hopefully research will bring an end to this very soon.  We are DONE 'N DUSTED with cancer.  Please support my efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support.

I have so much gratitude to my wonderful family and friends who donated their artwork etc.  Thank you to Nadya, Alena, Scott, Claire, Haidee, Angie, Leo&Edna, and to Nat for your photography shoot .. and to my awesome cousin Ryal Harris who donated a couple of exotic car hotlaps which were auctioned at the Gold Coast event.  You've all helped in our fundraising of nearly $5,000!  Plus the over all campaign raised in excess of $100,000!!!!

We can't thank the great guys at Dometic enough for allowing us this wonderful opportunity.  A special mention to Natalie King and Justine Schuller - a couple of amazing people!  Also thank you to the many sponsors who donated merchandise which we raffled, sold and gave away at our happy hours. 

I also have to say how absolutely incredible the other ambassador teams were throughout this whole 3 month trip ... Team Mckay (OnTheRoadAgain) Julie and Cameron and their children, Darcy, Tiarna, Maddie, Hamish; Team AdventureMumma Kate and Rob and their children, Josh and Charlie; Team MyAussieTravelGuide Grant and Linda; Team TheFiveBells Heather and Denis ... these people gave up 3 months of their time to put their absolute ALL into the happy hours and from someone who has had breast cancer I thank you on behalf of all those who have been diagnosed and those who will be diagnosed.  Your efforts will be the reason this disease is DONE N DUSTED in the future! 

Also thank you to the many, many holiday parks we all stayed at - many donated the sites, the sausages, help at the events and so much more.  I'm so humbled by the incredible generosity at all of the happy hours - there were so many people who came and donated and bought raffle tickets and told us their stories of their own breast cancer or family and friends who have survived (or not survived).
